In the last five years several trends have changed the landscape of the Web. The advent of user generated content (Blogs and Wikis), the popularity of media (e.g. YouTube and MySpace) and the penetration of Google's services (Maps, Mail, etc.) are easily noticeable. Especially, the recent popularity of Online Social Networks (e.g. Facebook and LinkedIn) is said to be a fundamental change in how the Internet is used today. This talk tries to answer some questions arising from these new trends, like: - Do these services affect the underlying network traffic? And if so how? - How do users interact with these new services, e.g. OSNs? - Can network operators tune their infrastructure to better support these new trends?
